R-n-D WELLING is a musical duet, from Warren PA, playing a variety of music. Their unique easy listening style is relaxing and entertaining for all age groups.

 

The band is comprised of two members, Rod-n-Dee Welling, and an electronic drum machine they affectionately call the “damn Union Drummer.”

 

Rod has been performing in bands since he was a teenager. He plays acoustic six and twelve string guitars and does vocals. He brings to the band his life long love and knowledge of music and performing.

 

Dee has been playing since 1996. She plays electric bass and is the harmony vocalist in the band. Her unique style of bass playing adds a richness of sound that helps give the band its unique sound.

 

Inspired by the music of Jimmy Buffett, this husband and wife team started playing together in 1996 just for fun at home. They added the drum machine in 1997 to bring more fullness to the rhythm.

 

Their first “public performance” was a one-hour set at a private  party in Pittsburgh in 1998. It was at that point they recognized their love for entertaining. They started booking gigs so they could share the music they enjoyed with others.

 

They have played for private parties, clubs, bars & many other functions from Pittsburgh, PA  to Buffalo, NY. Their 100 plus song repertoire allows them to play a variety of music from ballads to rock and roll, yet they still maintain their “parrot-head” roots. They love to perform full, one hour, sets taking short breaks.

 

Their true enjoyment is playing music. To them, entertaining is a privilege not an obligation and it shows in their performances.

 

R-n-D WELLING are truly “two musicians just having fun.” As long as they can play music, have fun and entertain people, you will find them playing somewhere!
